Basil J. Elipani, age 94, of Dyer, IN formerly of Dolton, IL passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Elipani; children, Richard (Catherine) Elipani, Kenneth Elipani, Donna (David) Herbeck, and William (Jeanne) Elipani; grandchildren, Christa Manthe, the late Joseph Elipani, Elizabeth Elipani, Rebecca Koonce, Rosie Elipani, Michael Herbeck, Andrew Herbeck, Krissy Newman, Basil Herbeck, Keri Elipani and Nikki Elipani; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and sister, Jennie (late Art) Hammermeister. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 DIRECTLY at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial offered by Reverend Ronald Zgunda. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Elwood, IL. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Basil worked as a foreman in The Big Tools for Verson Allsteel Press Co. for over 43 years. He was Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Dolton, IL and Past Commander in the V.F.W.
