Carl Ray Hasler, age 88, of Munster, IN went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2019. Carl was a Korean War era veteran, serving in the US Air Force from 1951-1955, attaining the rank of Airman First Class. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 6841 and a member of the Acadia Masonic Lodge. Carl worked as an engineer for the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad for 44 years. He served his community for many years as a member of the Orak Shriner Motor Patrol in Hammond, IN. Preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Flora; and his brother, Glen. Carl is survived by his four children, Jeff (Carol) Hasler of Munster, IN; Carl (Doris) Hasler of Charlestown, IN; Daniel Hasler of Phoenix, AZ; and Sara Leppert of Mayer, AZ. Carl also had 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Elwood, IL. Visitation will be on Monday, at the funeral, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Carl's name to Hospice of the Calumet Area.
