Donald E. Warino, 75, of Glenwood, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 2, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 42 years, Nancy (nee Sweet) Warino, his sister, Donna Andrews of Henderson, NV, daughters Candace (Matthew) Eich and Christine (Albert) Morgan, grandchildren Amanda (Paul) Sanders, Matthew Torres, Kaitlyn Torres, Ashley Morgan and Karen Morgan, and great-grandchildren Marissa and Bradley. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Iva Mae Fults. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St. John's Catholic Church, 301 S. Cottage Grove Ave., Glenwood, Illinois. Visitation will be held in the chapel at 10:00am, with mass following at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Joliet, IL at a later date. Don was a 1961 graduate of Thornton Township High School in Harvey, IL. He was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran. He worked over 34 year at Allied Tube and Conduit in Harvey, Il, where he held the position of \”Receiving Coordinator\”. He was proud of that title and had many good memories of working there. Don loved to travel – whether it was taking a cruise with Nancy, or trips to Florida with his daughters and grandchildren. When family members moved to California, he enjoyed visiting them, and seeing new places. Don loved to walk. This included walking around the cruise ship deck, Disney World Parks, any beach he could find, around casinos waiting for Nancy to finish the slots or with Kathy and his friends at South Holland. He walked 4 miles a day for years until he became ill in September 2017.Don was a great sports fan. He was a loyal Chicago Bears, Blackhawks and Cubs fan his whole life. But his biggest passion was the University of Florida Gators – everything Blue and Orange – Football games with Tim Tebow on Saturdays were the best. His collection of T-Shirts and Sweatshirts he received for B-Days and Christmas and purchased in Florida was what he enjoyed wearing the most.Don loved all the dogs that shared his life through the years. Since he was not able to walk this past year, we know he will enjoy walking with them in heaven. In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to either the Humane Indiana North Shelter, 421 45th Street, Munster, IN 46321, or South Suburban Humane Society, 1103 West End Ave., Chicago Heights, IL 60411. A Donation can also be given to St. John's Catholic Church, in his name.
