Dorothy M. Zacny, age 86, of Hammond, IN passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. She is survived by her children, Daniel Zacny, Christopher (Sonja) Zacny, Kathleen Wible and Karen Zacny; grandchildren, Christopher John (Stephanie) Zacny, Elizabeth Wible, Jane Zacny, Adam Wible, Cassandra Zacny and Matthew Wible; brother, Ronald Humpfer; and sister, Irene Humpfer. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Nelda Humpfer; her husband, Raymond Zacny; and brothers, Raymond, Daniel and Thomas Humpfer. Funeral Services will held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 DIRECTLY at St. Joseph Catholic Church 5304 Hohman Ave. Hammond, IN with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Visitation will be on Friday, January 19, 2018 at KISH FUNERAL HOME 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and again on Saturday, at the church, from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. Mass. Dorothy was an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Black Hawks fan and all-around sports enthusiast. She was a passionate gardener, excellent baker and a wonderful mother and grandmother. Dorothy will be missed by everyone who knew her including her many nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dorothy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
