Evangelina R. Navarro, of Schererville, IN passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Luis G. Navarro. Evangelina is survived by her children, Teresa, Georgina, Luis (Colleen) and Eva; her grandchildren, Marissa and Manuel; and her great-grandchildren, Mason and Mia. Evangelina was born and raised in Mexico then settled in Chicago, IL until ultimately relocating to IN to enjoy Luis’ retirement. A nurturing mother and homemaker, she loved to cook a variety of family recipes as well as her own to our delight. She enjoyed gardening and surrounded herself and the family home with beautiful flowers from her garden. Evangelina was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who adored her family deeply. She was the cherished foundation of the family. She will forever be remembered for her loving spirit and heart of gold. Visitation will be on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at KISH FUNERAL HOME 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018 DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church 3510 Deodar St. East Chicago, IN.
