He was preceded in death by his parents, Stjepan and Terezija Kalsan, and his brothers, Tony Kalsan and Stjepan Kalsan.
Frank was born on September 16, 1942, and raised in a small town in Croatia. He found his greatest joy in the company of family and friends, where his warmth and spirited personality left a lasting impression. He had a deep love for soccer, playing in Croatia, Canada, and the United States, forming lifelong friendships along the way. He also enjoyed bowling in local leagues, traveling, and dancing with his beloved wife at every opportunity.
Frank had a passion for simple pleasures, including playing bocce and his favorite card game, Belot, which brought him countless hours of joy and camaraderie.
In pursuit of love and a brighter future, Frank left his homeland of Croatia to marry his childhood sweetheart, Maria, on April 8, 1967. Together, they built a life grounded in dedication, perseverance, and mutual devotion. Through hard work and determination, they achieved their American Dream, establishing a home enriched with tradition, hospitality, and cherished memories.
Frank was widely known for his generosity, selflessness, and willingness to help others. Whether offering financial support, lending a helping hand, or simply sharing his time, he gave freely and without hesitation.
Above all, Frank was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a playful, humorous grandfather. His grandson, Matthew, affectionately called him “Didi.” Their special bond was strengthened through their shared love of Belot, where they became an unbeatable team and created countless treasured memories together.
Frank’s legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he so meaningfully touched.
