George P. Brousalis

March 3, 1958 - November 3, 2009

George P. Brousalis, 51 of Munster, IN passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years: Catherine “Becka” Brousalis; loving father of Peter and Leah Brousalis; cherished son of Evangeline Brousalis; loving brother of John Brousalis both of Tripoli, Greece; dearest son in law of Rev. Peter and Christine Georgacakes; caring brother in law of John (Denise) Georgacakes; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, Godchildren and adored soccer family, friends and players; preceded in death by his father: Peter Brousalis. George’s life revolved around his children and their love of soccer. He was a cherished coach and mentor to many area boy’s and girl’s soccer players and considered them and their families his second family. Visitation will be on Friday, November 6, 2009 from 3:00-8:00 PM with a Trisagion Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. (next to Fitness Pointe) Munster, IN. Funeral service will be Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 7021 Hohman Ave. Hammond, IN. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family for the children’s education would be appreciated.

I met George during the Summer Festival at Saint Demetrios years ago and worked with him at the Saganaki Bar on quite a few occasions. It was a pleasure to know such a kind and warm man.
