Geraldine “Gerry” Owczarzak, 83 from Dolton Illinois passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John of 61 years. Together they raised two sons, Michael (Monica) Owczarzak and Raymond (Karen) Owczarzak. She was the cherished grandmother of Madison and Harrison Owczarzak.  Gerry was a beloved sister-in-law to James (Mary Carmody), Marge (Richard) Green and Mary (Jim) Hunt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Mary; a brother, John; and sisters, Mary, Pauline and Ann; as well as her-in-laws, Barbara (Bill) Peppard and Joseph Owczarzak.  Gerry was very special aunt to many nieces and nephews as well as a dear cousin.

Gerry graduated from High School in East Chicago IN. She was a radiologist who worked in Chicago as well as Northwest Indiana. Gerry’s love of birdwatching and gardening was evident both in her home as well as her garden.  Gerry’s artistic talents were demonstrated by her embroidery, crocheting and needlepoint that she shared with family and friends.  Her talents and personality will be missed by many.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. from Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN on Saturday, June 29, 2024.  Visitation will be on Saturday, at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until  12:00 p.m.
