Izella Jackson was born on November 30, 1933; she was the eighth of ten children born to the late Clifton and Brazilian (Smith) Jackson in Pine Bluff Arkansas. After relocating to Chicago in the 1950’s she became a lifetime member of New Testament Baptist Church. Prior to her illness she took great pride in being a dedicated Church Mother.Izella greatly enjoyed family and friends which was demonstrated by her hosting numerous holiday gatherings over the years. Izella retired from Grant Hospital in 1998. During her retirement she walked daily as a member of the River Oaks Mall Walkers. In her later years one of her greatest joys was her individual daily walks throughout the neighbored. Izella Jackson, age 84, departed this life at Franciscan Hospital on January 22, 2018. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, nine siblings and her longtime companion Harding Johnson. She leaves to cherish her life: her daughter Gloria Jean Jackson a special cousin Lorraine Dunn, four nieces Brazilian( Alfonzo) Thurman, Susan Muir, Sandra( Eddie) Dobbins, Linda (Thomas) Spight, four nephews, Lawrence Bennett, James Bennett, Anwar Zeidi, Terry Jackson and numerous great nieces and nephews.
