Jeanette Newell-Platis, 74, of Schererville, IN passed away Saturday November 8, 2008. She is survived by her sons: Richard (MaryAnn) Newell and Randy (Lynette) Newell, grandchildren: Nicole, Natalie, Ricky, Spencer, Vanessa and Lucas; sister: Sally (Dominic) Guzzino; nieces: Corinne (Michael) Connelly and Denise (Raul) Joffre; great nieces: Alexis and Maggie Connelly; great nephews: Mario and Vince Joffre; dear friend: JoAnn Rassel; faithful canine companion: Murphy; preceded in death by her husbands: James Newell and Christopher Platis. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday November 16, 2008 from 2:00-6:00 PM with a memorial service at 5:50 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. (next to Fitness Pointe) Munster, IN. Jeanette had worked as a receptionist at the Marc Alan Hair Salon for 22 years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hospice of the Calumet Area in her memory would be appreciated.
