Joseph P. Fry, age 36 formerly of Oak Lawn passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023 in Chicago. Joe was born October 18, 1986 in Oak Lawn, IL to Joseph and Margaret Fry. He graduated from Oak Lawn Community High School in 2005, and was a graduate of Trinity Christian College. Joseph was a head custodian at Oak Lawn School District #122 for several years, while working on his Bachelor’s degree, which he completed. Eventually, Joe became a business owner of Marvel Reconstruction.
His hobbies included spending time with his family and friends, taking his dogs to the park, riding his Harley, attending Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears games and being a gearhead.
Joe was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend and boyfriend. His love, laughter, sarcasm and his argumentative comments were enjoyed by everyone he knew. Joe was hard working, determined, and always did what people said couldn’t be done. He ran the Chicago Marathon without any training just because a co-worker said, “Joe you can’t run a marathon, people train for months, even years.” Joe finished the marathon and placed 21,268 with the help of his XL Dunkin Donuts coffee he drank before the race.
Joe is survived by his beloved father, Joseph R. Fry; twin sisters, Julie (Aaron) Rutell and Chrissy (Tom) O’Malley; and brother, Thomas (Joy) Fry; Let’s not forget his mongrel’s Bane and Ted Fry. Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Fry.
Visitations will be held for Joe on Monday, January 16, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN 46321. The prayer service will be held at 5:00 pm. Services conclude at the funeral home and cremation rites are to be accorded.
