It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Judith “Judy” Zlatos (née Pietrzyk) on March 11, 2025 at the age of 81 in Schererville, IN. Judith passed away peacefully at home with loved ones at her side.

Judy lived a life filled with love and devotion to family.

Judy was the beloved mother of Debra Battles Brown, Diane Glim, Jean Kirkpatrick, Carol Vithoulkas, Annie Mostacchio, and Tiger Kirkpatrick. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Mark Battles, Malorie, Kyle and Louie Wantroba,Amanda, Jaymie and Giuliana Mostacchio. Pete and Dimitra Vithoulkas, Sarah and Mia Aguirre.

Judy was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Alexandra, Vincent, and Olivia Battles, Olivia Aguirre , Atlas and Oaklynn Vithoulkas, Kaleb and Elysia Wantroba.

Judy was preceded in death by her spouse Bill Zlatos; her parents Mabel and Vincent Pietrzyk; and her brother William Pietrzyk.

Judy’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

My wife and I had the pleasure of being Judy’s neighbors in Lancaster, OH shortly before she moved and passed away. During about a year prior, she had hurt herself and was unable to keep up with her yard work and my wife and I were blessed to be able to step in and help her. Judy was always so grateful. I will miss her smile, conversation and beautiful spirit.

To Judy’s family I got the privilege of living by your mother in Lancaster, Ohio. We had many laughs, Many tears, and long talks! Judy loved her family very much!! She bragged to me all the time on how wonderful everyone was and how she missed everybody. She was very special to me. She was more than a neighbor. She was a friend. You are very blessed to have her for a mother. Her legacy will live on through you and through your children. My mother passed away when I was 25 years old. Having Judy live next to me was like having another mother who gave me good advice when I needed it. I will miss her very much! One thing I know about your mom she told you the truth, whether you liked it or not ! lol. She was a good woman! I know I will see her again in heaven, and I look forward to it.
