Madeline M. Koenig, 93, of Munster, IN formerly of Highland, IN passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017. Loving mother of Mary (Joseph) Murzyn, Judy (Tom) Mihalik, Mark (Lisa) Koenig, Laura (Late James) Conroy and Thomas (Michelle) Koenig. Cherished grandmother of 11 and proud great grandmother of 2. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward in 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. Interment will be at Good Shepherd cemetery, Orland Park, IL. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:00-10:00 am at the church. Madeline grew up in Brooklyn, NY. She raised five children in Highland Indiana, while working outside the house as an executive assistant. She also attended Calumet College where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. She was an active member at St. Maria Goretti Church. Madeline was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army or Hospice of the Calumet Area in her memory would be appreciated.
