Margaret E. “Mitzi” Kouris (nee Grimmer)Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Margaret E. “Mitzi” Kouris, age 89 of Munster, died peacefully on January 18th after a brief illness. She is survived by loving sons John (Renee) Kouris of Munster and Craig (Mary Ellen) Kouris of Whiting, grandchildren Johnny, Ryan, Craig (Brittany) Kouris and Alison (Ryan) Zolcak, great grandchildren Lucius, Lola and Kittyhawk, sister Joan (late Art) Jungwirth of Plover, WI, brother-in-law George (Geri) Kouris of Highland and a vast number of nieces, nephews and cousins that only her family of 12 siblings could produce. She was preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Wilfred, Jerome, Joseph and William, and sisters Genevieve, Rita, Rosemary, Regina, Colette and Theresa. Mitzi was employed at Community Hospital in pediatrics for many years. Her greatest love was her immediate and extended families, her sons’ cats, wild animals of all species, crossword puzzles, and Wheel of Fortune. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Thomas More Church, 8501 Calumet Avenue, Munster at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 23rd. Gathering begins at 9:30 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mitzi’s memory to Humane Indiana, 421 45th Avenue, Munster, IN 46321 would be appreciated.
