Mary Ann Rosenbach, 87, of Lansing, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2026. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mary Ann shared 67 wonderful years of marriage with her late husband, Phil. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, travel, dining, and dancing. She was the devoted mother of Kathleen Rosenbach and David Rosenbach, and a proud, involved grandmother to Eric (Cody) Mlcoch, Zachary (Lauren) Mlcoch, and Scott (Kaylin) Mlcoch. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Jack, son of Scott and Kaylin.
Born on December 14, 1938, in Chicago, IL, Mary Ann was the daughter of Mary and Rudy Kovac. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Richard Schlienz, and her sister, Janice Nisevich.
Mary Ann worked as a nurse at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, IL, where she built a career defined by compassion, dedication, and exceptional skill. She loved her work and took great pride in caring for others, earning the respect of both colleagues and patients. Even after retirement, her deep medical knowledge remained a source of strength and support to those around her.
She embraced life fully, enjoying travel—whether cruising or visiting destinations around the world—as well as golfing, playing cards and dominoes, dancing, and listening to live music in Chicago and Naples, FL. Her zest for life and deep commitment to family and faith were evident in all she did.
Visitation will take place at Kish Funeral Home in Munster, IN, on Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 7:00pm with a prayer service at 6:00pm. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Phil, in a private ceremony at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL, on Monday, June 15, 2026.
