P. Ann (nee Merkel) Schuch, age 90 of Highland, IN passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020. She is survived by her children, Stephen Charlson, Kenneth (Jan) Schuch, Cynthia (Michael) Schuch-Lynch, son-in-law, Jim Sowinski, Scott (Kim) Schuch and Mary (nee Schuch) (Kevin) O’Connell; grandchildren, Brad, Sarah, Steve, Jami, Ryan, Alec, Jake, Colton, Hunter Chris, Stephanie, Pam and Courtney.  Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Mary Merkel; husband, Roy J. Schuch; and Stella (nee Schuch) Sowinski.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2020 DIRECTLY at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church 1 E. Wilhelm St. Schererville, IN with a Mass of Christian Burial offered by Reverend Jacob McDaniel.  Interment will follow with her beloved Roy’s ashes at St. Michael Cemetery.

Ann was born on March 3, 1930 in Richmond, VA and worked at Continental Can for many years.  She married Roy J. Schuch in 1957 and after his passing, Ann went back to school where she achieved a Master’s Degree at age 70 in Psychotherapy at Governors State University.  Ann worked as a counselor for several years until retirement.

Ann was well-educated and loved learning.  She was a vibrant and happy Lady.  Anyone who knew her, loved her and she would greet everyone with a smile.  Ann absolutely loved her books.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ann’s name to Doctors Without Borders or the Alzheimer’s association.
