Patricia Louise (nee Palombo) McCullough age 86, of Schererville, IN passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, while surrounded by loving family. She is survived by her loving children: Catherine McCullough (Michael Pfeiler), William (Monika) McCullough Jr., Daniel McCullough (John Reagan), Ken (Julie) McCullough, Susan McCullough and Rosie McCullough (Chris Thompson); her cherished grandchildren: Caitlin (Keenan), Kyle, Andreas, Krista, Gabriel, Jorge, Jessica, Michael, Calvin, Lucienne, Isabelle, Frederick, JP, Nick, Abby and Nicki; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Giacomo and Luka.

Patricia was the dear sister of Marie (late Gordon) Musser, Gene (Mary) Palombo and Toni (Tom) Wargo; and the loving aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, William McCullough; and her parents, Peter and Antoinette Palombo.

Patricia was born April 24, 1938 in Pittsburgh, PA and was a proud graduate of St. Thomas high school, where she was May queen, yearbook editor and prom queen. She was noted as having a sparkling personality and brought happiness to all. She went on to complete nursing school with flying colors at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. While in school she met the love of her life, Bill and they married on October 24,1959. She embarked on her nursing career in Northwest Indiana, working first in the emergency department at the local hospital, then in a family practice clinic and finally retiring in 1996 as the assistant director of nursing at a long-term care facility.

She was devoted to the Catholic Church and served as a eucharistic minister as well as helping out with baptisms and funerals at St. Joseph and St Maria Goretti Church. Patricia was a member of the Alpha Tau chapter of Pi Epsilon Kappa, a Catholic sorority. She was a member of and past president of the Dyer Garden Club and she also volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Patricia enjoyed traveling, puzzling and baking. She was known for her amazing pies.

Most of all she loved being with her family near and far.  She was the kindest, most loving person who brought joy to everyone around her, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at St. Maria Goretti Church 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN at 12:30pm with Father Leo Gajardo officiating. Visitation with the family to follow at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN from 3-7pm. Interment will be private.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the Franciscan hospital staff in Munster for their compassionate care. Donations can be made in her name to the charity of the donor’s choice in lieu of flowers, if desired.
