Peter Lee Hatton, 76 of Munster, IN passed away peacefully on May 20, 2024. Born April 8, 1948 in Attica, Indiana to Charles and June (nee Hullihan) Hatton.

Pete was a proud graduate of Wabash College, class of 1970, and Indiana University School of Law, class of 1973. He began his legal career as a federal regulatory attorney in Washington D.C. with the Federal Power Commission. An eventual return to practice in Indiana led to Pete becoming a highly respected utility regulatory attorney and partner with Eichhorn, Eichhorn & Link in Hammond, Indiana, Schiff, Hardin & Waite in Chicago, Illinois and finally with Baker & Daniels in Indianapolis, Indiana.

An avid golfer, Pete could be found playing countless rounds on the courses of Woodmar Country Club, Idlewild Country Club, and Innsbrook Country Club. He particularly enjoyed the 19^th hole with his many golfing buddies. A sports enthusiast, Pete like watching and discussing the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears. He loved to read, particularly history, politics, thrillers, suspense, and his stack of Sunday newspapers.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents. His memory will forever be held in the hearts of his surviving family: his wife of 52 years, Mary (nee Leahy); his children, Kristan (John) Reed, son Peter Hatton; his granddaughters, Kylie and Cameran Reed; his brother, John (Anne) Hatton; brother-in-law, Michael (Sara) Leahy; his niece Kate Leahy and nephews, Tony, Tim, and JC Hatton and Nicholas Leahy.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Words of remembrance and celebratory toast to Pete will be shared at 6:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Evans Scholars Foundation.
