Rennis C. Boyda, 78, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Kay; daughter, Lynn (Tom); sons, Mike (Denise) and Tim (Tracy); stepchildren, Chad (Brittany), Jennifer and Sean (Becky); grandchildren, Calvin (Alondra), Rachel (Mason), Becky, Kyle, Jason, Josh, Zack, Jack, Adam, Brooklyn, Grace and Kenneth; sister, Romayne (Rich); sisters and brothers in law, Kay (Joe), Teri (Rich), Fran (John), Deanna (Don), Don and Gael (Lori);several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria in 2005.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Funeral service will be Friday, May 17, 2019 at 9:00 am from the funeral home with a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Victor Church, 553 Hirsch Ave. Calumet City, IL. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. In Lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association in his memory would be appreciated. Rennis served with the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 330 in Calumet City, IL. He retired from Republic Engineering Steel.

I was saddened to hear of Uncle Rennis’ passing. He could sure tell a good fish story from the many vacation up at the lake. When I was a kid, I never really knew how big that fish was but it always seemed to be a little bigger than my dads! His stories were fun and his laugh was infectious. He always made me smile.
