Rose Marie Aloia, age 91 of Munster, IN formerly of Sun City West, AZ passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020. She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Rick) Filetti, Daniel Aloia and Joanne (Don) Ross; grandchildren, Mark, Cara (Brian), Steven, Lauren M., Lauren K. and Danny; great granddaughter, Mia Rose; siblings, Jean, Hank (Jean) and Fran (Bob); and many nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Angeline Santostefano; and husband, Rudy Aloia.

Rose was a long-time resident of Lansing, IL and retired to Sun City West, AZ with her husband, Rudy where they lived for 25 years. She recently returned to Munster, IN to be near her family. Rose was a loving mother who enjoyed spending time with family. She loved to cook and entertain, playing cards with friends, golfing and watching the Cubs and Bears. She will be deeply missed.

As per the family’s request, Funeral Services and Interment for Rose are private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Rose’s name to Hospice of the Calumet Area or Bethshan Association 12927 S. Monitor Ave. Palos Heights, IL 60463.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. My name is Allison, and I work at Hartsfield village. Miss Rose was my ray of sunshine at work. She would always come in the dining room with a bright smile on her face. Her and I bonded within her first couple of weeks, and she gave me the best advice as I move on in life. We had a plan of drinking lemon martinis once I turn 21 in January, we talked about it every time we saw each other. I know she is looking down so proud and I miss her every single day. I’m so fortunate to have met my Rose ❤️

My memories of her always include a gracious woman who had a smile on her face, a sparkle in her eye and perhaps a glass of wine in her hand! Her life seemed to be all about her wonderful family. I will miss my dear friend ,Rose ! We were together almost every day since we met just 6 months ago! Shared our lives,played cards and helped each other stay positive during this pandemic . I am praying now for her family as they mourn a very SPECIAL lady! Rose is now free of pain and and at rest in her heavenly home. Love and prayers to Rosie's family.

I live at Hartsfield where I met Rose when she first moved here. We had a connection because our granddaughters knew each other. Awhile back Rose asked me to make her a mask. I’ve made many here and she knew I would be happy to do that for her. I delivered the mask to her apartment. I am so glad I did that. Just a few short weeks ago I talked to her when she just came back from her drs appointment. She was sad because she was givensad news.. Just a few short weeks ago. She always had a smile and a hello for me. I just want you to know I really enjoyed knowing her. I miss her.
