Sophia (Simala) Susoreny, 93, of Hammond, IN passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. She is survived by her children: Gregory (Andrea) Susoreny, Patricia (James) Flis, Karen (Dennis) Hilgeman and Timothy Susoreny, grandchildren: Sarah (Kevin) Zurek, Mark, Jonathan (Kelly) Flis, Jennifer (Jeff) Sawa and Zachary, great grandchildren: Ethan and Benjamin Flis, dear aunt of many nieces and nephews, sister in law Julie Susoreny. Sophia was preceded in death by her parents Catherine and Michael Simala, husband George Susoreny, sisters: Marie Stepansky, Catherine Duray, Anne Mutz, Carol Surdy, Anita Hudec and brother Eugene.Sophia was the last surviving child of seven, born to the late Catherine and Michael Simala.Visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home,10000 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN 46321. Entombment will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice of the Calumet Area, 600 Superior Ave., Munster, IN would be appreciated.
