Trinidad “Trining” Tabayoyong Moore, age 83, died on Friday, June 22, 2018. Popularly called “Trining” hailed from the Philippines. She was the second child of eight children; one boy and seven girls, those who survive, Josefina (Cezario) Bareng, Maria T. Finuliar, Rosalina (late James) T. Monahan, Nena (Abraham) T. Carbonell, and Nancy (Mario) T. Campos; of the late, parents Catalino V. Tabayoyong and Teodora D. Cabacungan; Florida (Zosimo) T. Tagupa, Rufo (Juanita) C. Tabayoyong, and Florencio Finuliar; also those who survive, uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends and all who knew her. On June 2, 1973 she married Dr. Edwin G. Moore. He died in February of 2002. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 DIRECTLY at St. Thomas More Catholic Church 8501 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN with a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial offered by Reverend Michael Yadron. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at KISH FUNERAL HOME 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and again, at the church on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Interment will be private in the Philippines. Trining acquired her elementary education in Laoac and her secondary education at Manaoag High School. A graduate of the Philippine Women’s University of Manila with a B.S.E.d. and B.S. Degree in Secondary Education. Trining passed the Philippine Civil Service Exam for teaching in 1959 and was fortunate enough to get her first job in teaching. She was a very active Cub Scout leader and was a recipient of a scholarship to the National Boy Scout Jamboree in Makiling, Laguna, Philippines in 1968. Prior to her migrating to the U.S.A., she passed the Philippine Professionals Civil Service Exam in June of 1968. In July of 1968, she migrated to the U.S.A. and was offered a job as a P.E. instructor with the Gary Community School Corp. In 1972, Trining obtained her Master’s Degree in General Elementary Education from Indiana University Northwest Gary, IN. Trining was a recipient of numerous awards and recognitions from the Philippines and the United States. Just to mention a few of them, Recognition Award from Gary Community School Corp. for Excellent P.E. Demonstration in June of 1977; International Institute of Northwest IN Inc.; from the PPA, she received the President Award for Exemplary Service; PPA Distinguished Service Award for Meritorious Service Silver Jubilee in November of 1995; Immigrant Achievement Award; the Most Prestigious Award from then Indiana Governor, Evan Bayh “Sagamore of the Wabash” in June of 1992; and the Bin-I Award from Laoac Pangasinan Association of So. California on February 17, 1996. Trining was a member of different civic organizations in the U.S.A., International Institute of Northwest IN, Inc., as a Board of Director 1994, Treasurer 1995, President 1996-1998; National Medical Auxiliary; Gary and IN State PTA; Urban League of Northwest IN Inc.; founding President of the Laoac Pangasinan Association of the Midwest and in 2004 President of the Philippine Professional’s Assoc. Trining Moore was a faithful parishioner at St. Thomas More Catholic Church Munster, IN.
