TWILA JEAN MARSH, age 58, of Munster, Indiana (formerly of Cedar Lake & Schererville, Indiana) passed away on October 3, 2017. She was born on December 12, 1958 to Jack & Seigle “Tootsie” Marsh. Twila is survived by her brother Leroy (Jamie) Marsh, nephew Christopher, great-nephew Patrick Marsh, great-niece Serena Marsh, special cousin Chester (Peggy)Patterson, her beloved “little boy” companion Hershey, and an extended family of many cousins, relatives and special friends.Preceded in death by her parents and nephew Ryan James Marsh. She leaves behind many beloved friends, family and former students.Twila has been the Media Specialist at Munster High School for over 10 years. Prior to that, she was an Elementary teacher at Jane Ball School in Cedar Lake, In. She took great pride in being an educator and being involved with children and young adults. There was never a day that you didn’t see Twila smiling and being positive and upbeat. She lived her life to the fullest. She was happiest when she was helping others or taking care of her loved ones. She was often heard bragging about beloved family members or former students. She always took great pride in what others achieved and felt a part of their successes.Twila was co-founder of the Mustang Toy Roundup providing toys to disadvantaged children during the holidays for over 20 years. She enjoyed serving dinners at the Ronald McDonald House near the University of Chicago in her nephew Ryan’s memory. Twila was a Past Honored Queen in Job’s Daughters. She was a member of Dyer United Methodist Church and a devout Christian. She devoted her life to taking care of others, usually anonymously. She will be deeply missed by those who she came in contact with daily, knew her and loved her. Visitation will be Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 1:00-7:00 pm at KISH FUNERAL HOME, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and on Monday October 9, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 am with a Funeral service at 11:00 am at the Dyer United Methodist Church, 2016 Church St. Dyer, IN. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN.In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to The Ryan Marsh Foundation, The Monica Marsh Scholarship Fund (toward Patrick and Serena’s education) or the charity of your choice in her memory.
