Mr. Hoffman was a wonderful teacher who helped encourage my faith at St. Paul’s. I can truly say, “well done, good and faithful servant.” This same faith has sustained me all my life. I know I will see him in eternity with all the others he helped throughout his teaching years. My Dad and Mom, Ernie and Colleen Gyure considered him a good friend too. I will be praying for your family.

We want to extend our sincere sympathy to Ken and Linda Hoffmann and their family and to Bill's family. May you find comfort in your memories. We had the pleasure of meeting Bill when he came to Dubuque a couple of times. Right away you could tell he had a great sense of humor and that he was a great person. Again, we extend our deepest sympathies to everyone in Bill's family.

My condolences to the family of Bill Hoffman. He was my teacher in 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade as we grew up together. He was always ready to be out on the blacktop or field chasing us for tag or being chased and he moved desks back each week to teach us all how to square dance. And he was just a really excellent teacher and friend in those transformative years at St. Pauls on Erie St.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

My sympathies to the entire family. Mr. Hoffman was a great teacher; one of my favorites, and a terrific coach. He always allowed me to come back to his class and pick out a book to read, even though I was no longer in his grade. He will be greatly missed. Stephanie Bottiger

My sympathies to the entire family of Mr. Hoffman. He will surely be missed. As an adult he told me to call him Bill, but I just couldn't do it. He was my absolute favorite teacher & coach. He always pushed me to be better in everything I did. I have so many fond memories of him. I still have a picture of me, him & Ms Mullens hanging on my fridge from 8th grade at a basketball tournament.

Bill was one my favorite people. We played softball together for many years. When I was in St. Paul’s on Eire St. after school I would set pins for he and Dave Brandt in the bowling alleys in the basement. Love the guy sorry to see him go. God bless. Mark

My condolences to the family and friends of Bill. When I came to serve St. Paul's Lutheran Church as senior pastor, Bill was retired from teaching at our school. Many spoke of his faithful teaching over the years and his service to the congregation. I was invited to their 50th anniversary. Peg and Bill were a fine couple and served their church faithfully. Bill showed forth his rye sense of humor to the delight of his guests. We entrust Bill and Peg to their Lord and look forward to a blessed reunion with our risen Lord Jesus Christ.
