I do not get the extraordinary honor to say that I knew Yiorgo personally. I heard of him through choir however and got to see a goofy side of him as my aid in beginning choir this past school year. He was always cracking jokes, making us all laugh and smile. A day was never dull in his presence. His passing was one that shocked and moved us all, and I'm terribly sorry for the family's loss. One thing that my choir director told us during this difficult week stuck with me. It was that in times like these, life may seem very unfair. You may be sad, depressed, or even angry and that unfortunately is the sorrowful part of this whole step. Yet, there's a certain beauty to these tough times and it is that it brings us all together. We all love Yiorgo unconditionally and have this beautiful unity through him that will never fade. This is what we need to focus on. It's not going to be easy, but it's what's worth it and that's all that really matters. We need to remember that Yiorgo is still here with us, and we should focus on remembering the happy times we shared with him. My heart goes out to his family and may God comfort you during these difficult times.

When we moved to Munster 8 years ago, we would hear stories of Yiorgo from our son, who was a classmate of his. He would come home and tell us the funny things that Yiorgo said or did that day. We felt like we knew him just from these stories. He helped our son feel more comfortable with the stress of a new school and finding new friends. Thank you for him!
