I am so sorry for your loss of a husband, father, grandfather. Dennis was a great boss while I worked at the Hammond YMCA in Hammond, IN. One morning while almost to work on my bike Dennis saw me almost get hit by a wreckless driver on the corner of Northcote - I had to jump a curb to avoid being hit and run with my bike as I had to get off to use my legs. When I came walking into the 'Y' he turned ghost white - he thought I was hit by that driver - Dennis told me that he prayed for me to be ok or to recover - that meant a lot to me. Now I am praying for the Gray family to be comforted and healed in time by our Lord Jesus Christ. Peace be with you and your family.

Sending Aunt Sue and my cousins Jenny, Julie, Melissa and their families condolences. I will always remember Uncle Dennis for his curiosity and interest in all his daughters and nieces and nephews lives. My husband Ryan and I asked Uncle Dennis to be a principal sponsor in our wedding—an older mentor chosen by the couple to serve as an official witness that they both admire. We chose him because he always made me feel welcome and included growing up and for Ryan, as a 20 something joining a big family, he felt the same. Uncle Dennis and Aunt Sue were often at our birthdays and celebrations as a young married couple and it was always special that they joined us. We love you Dennis.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Dennis was such a dedicated leader at the Hammond YMCA and a truly kind soul. I remember his passion for photography and his clever wit. Since the family suggested donations to Northwest Indiana Parkinson’s Inc., I’ve been looking into local support resources in his honor. Has anyone here had experience with the specialized programs mentioned at https://www.facebook.com/snapp2008/ for those staying active with the condition? I want to make sure my contribution or involvement goes to the most effective local initiatives Dennis cared about. Rest in peace, Bampa.

Sending love and strength to Aunt Sue, my cousins, and their families. Uncle Dennis was an important part of my childhood. After Grandma and Grandpa Steinert passed, it was particularly meaningful to me that he and Sue came to my college graduation and participated in other important life moments for me and my sisters. 🤍
