Barbara Bosak, the heart and soul of our family, navigated through life with unwavering love and faith, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025. At 95, she left behind a legacy of devotion, joy, and an unbreakable bond with her family that will forever shine in our hearts.
Born in Shelby, Indiana, Barbara was the rock and foundation of our family, a role she embraced with grace and strength. Her love for her children and grandchildren was boundless—she was their biggest cheerleader, confidante, and guiding light. Each child and grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she never missed a chance to make them feel cherished, whether through a warm hug, a shared laugh, or her presence at every milestone. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she filled their lives with love, wisdom, and countless memories. Her heart was big enough to embrace not only her family but also her beloved grand puppies, who adored her as much as she adored them.
Her strong Catholic faith was her compass, guiding her through life with grace and inspiring those around her. She found joy in prayer, attending Mass, and living her faith, exemplified in her kindness and compassion. A beacon of vitality, Barbara lived a healthy and active life, enjoying spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling, and embracing each day with enthusiasm. Yet, she also knew how to savor life’s simple pleasures, delighting in a perfectly crafted Manhattan, while cheering on contestants during her beloved Jeopardy, her quick wit shining as she answered along.
Barbara shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband, John “Jack” Bosak. Together, they danced to the rhythms of big band music, enjoyed golf, and traveled across the globe, creating memories that warmed her heart until the end.
Barbara is survived by her children John “Skip” (Cora) Bosak, Greg (Debra) Bosak, Theresa Bosak (Scott Haislip); 16 grandchildren, Shawn (Andy) Borman, Brad (Christina) Bosak, Cameron Bosak, Logan Bosak, Carson Bosak, Caden Bosak, Brooke Bosak, Nicholas (Devin) Bosak, Adam Bosak, John (Courtney) Bosak, Calvin Haislip, Spencer Haislip, Caitlin Haislip, Cooper Haislip, Sydney Haislip, and Reagan Haislip; and 5 great-grandchildren, Riley and Sophie Bosak, Leo Borman, Beau Bosak, and Caroline Bosak. All will carry her love and strength forward. She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Bosak; her son Cary Bosak, who was married to Jennifer; her brother Richard (Lois) Uhter; sisters Shirley (Don) Barton, Kay (Bob) Schreiber; and her parents, Charles, and Elvira Uhter.
