Barbara “Barb” Jane Paul, 86, of Lynwood, IL, transitioned into
spirit suddenly on December 28, 2022.
Barbara was born on August 27, 1936, in Chicago Heights, IL to
Charles and Bernice Tafelski. Barbara graduated from Bloom High
School in 1954. She worked for Ameritech in Chicago for over 20
years. Barbara worked as a caregiver and babysitter for many
families after she retired.
Barbara is survived by two daughters, Laurie (Mike) Salmon and
Amy Synko. Her beloved Grandchildren, Heidi Niego, Nicholas and
Andrew Synko. Sister Marilyn (John) Bricks, and niece Raegan
Bricks-(Jrod) Davis. Barbara was preceded in death by her father,
Charles, and mother, Bernice.
Barbara was a loving, caring, spunky and courageous woman. She
adored her daughters and grandchildren. Barbara was a source of
strength, encouragement, and laughter to her daughters. Her
second love was animals and especially her kitties. Barbara was a
loving cat mom to many adopted stray cats. She also loved
decorating her home, making it cozy and inviting.
Barbara will be greatly missed but her spirit lives on in all who
were privileged enough to know her. A celebration of life will be
held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers Barbara really wants donations made to the
Humane Society. She specified Munster or Chicago Heights but any
Humane society will honor Barbs legacy.
