Darrell F. Navarro, 66, of Munster, IN passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; daughters, Renee (Ron) LaBounty and Ashley (Matthew) Baugher; son, Brett (Lindsay) Navarro; grandchildren, Ian, Emma, Sadie, Brantley and Adeline; sister, Sandra Navarro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Adeline Navarro.Visitation will be Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 2:00-6:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Funeral service will be on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.Darrell was a graduate of Purdue University School of Engineering and a graduate of Morton High School Class of 1966, where he played on the 1965 State Champion Football team. He was employed at Nipsco for 42 years. Darrell was the Patriarch of his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and neighbor. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Brett/Ashley, I have such fund memories of your Dad coaching me in biddy ball and little league. I remember in 4th grade biddy ball your Dad and Joe Culberg were our coaches and we used to practice at Frank H Hammond. In 1997 when Brett and I were on the Rockies and in 1999 on the Astros. I'll never forget either season because we won the Championship and Darrell was our coach. Your dad was my favorite coach in all the years growing up. When others didn't believe in me, he always did. He was always smiling and cared that we were good teammates and always practiced good sportsmanship. Simply put, he was the best coach I ever had. I am so sorry for your loss. He was lucky enough to see grandchildren and you have my deepest condolences.Joshua Levin
