My condolences to the Lopez family on the passing of your husband and father. Mr. Lopez will always be remembered as a good friend and coach to many. I have found memories of him stopping by my parent’s house to visit with them on their back porch. I will always be grateful to him for guiding my brother and giving my dad the opportunity to be a fill in coach.

Dear Evelynn (Mrs. Lopez), Eddie, Bobby, Chris, Cindy & Jan: Sincerest condolences on the passing of your husband and father. He was a great man and was a tremendous influence on my life… for which I will be eternally grateful. As I look back, some of the fondest memories of my life involve playing baseball and basketball at St. Jude for him. Mr. Lopez was first a mentor, and then… later on, he became just a very good friend. Seeing him whenever I returned back to Chicago was always a high point of any trip. His advice was always sought and cherished. I will miss him. Coach Lopez and you all will be in my prayers! Yours, very sincerely & respectfully, Tom Kwiecien

Mr. Lopez had such a huge influence on my life, and on the lives of so many other St. Jude students . As a coach, he taught us the value of hard work and dedication. As a friend, he taught us about respect and loyalty. He was a great friend to my parents and sister. He will be remembered for the rest of our lives.
