Michael Gbur, age 91, of Munster, IN passed away on Thursday, May 25,
2023.

He’s survived by his wife of 62 years, Alvine Gbur, their daughter Jody
(Paul) Lang, and their son Tom Gbur; his grandchildren David Lang, Bryan
Lang, and Diana Lang; his brother John Gbur and numerous nieces and
nephews.

Michael now joins his parents Joseph and Anna Gbur, as well as his dear
siblings Eva Kraft, Katherine Babiak, Julia Strilko, Nick Gbur, Helen Dimick,
and Mary Kapusta.

Michael worked as a Lab Technician at Burnside Steel for over 35 years
and at Superior Graphite before his retirement. He was a lifelong and
faithful parishioner of St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church,
attending services; helping put together fundraising events; and making
pierogies with the sisterhood. Michael’s hobbies were collecting pinback
buttons, baseball cards, and beer cans. He enjoyed traveling to flea
markets and shows with his wife, Alvine; where they would meet vendors to
share Mike’s enthusiasm regarding his hobbies.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 4:00 p.m.
to 8:00 p.m. at Kish Funeral Home, located at 10000 Calumet Ave.,
Munster, IN 46321.
On Friday, June 2, 2023, a visitation will be held between 9:00 a.m. – 10:00
a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church located at 8410
131st. St. Palos Park, IL 60464. The visitation will be followed by a funeral
service at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Saints Peter and Paul
Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Michael’s name.
