Patricia Ann Kish (nee Burns) 91, of Munster, IN passed away peacefully Thursday, May 30, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Kish; sons, Tim, and Bob Kish; granddaughter, Marissa Novak. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Kish, and Mary Kate (Brett) Teske; son, Kevin (Judy) Kish; grandchildren, Dr. Megan (Dr. Scott) Peters; Michael (Amanda) Morley, Kaylin (Mark) Germillion, David (Cassidy) Kish, Matt Kish, Will Teske and Kenna Teske; great grandchildren, Lucy and Sam Peters; Tim Kish Jr., Malcolm and Marlowe Morley, Mason and Beckham Germillion; brother, Tom (late Jean) Burns; sister, Deanna (Dr. Richard) Reffkin; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas More Church, Munster, IN. Interment will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary, IN. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN from 2:00-6:00 pm with a prayer service at 2:00 pm and on Monday from 9:30-10:00 am at the church.

Pat organized and started The Wounded Healers in 1989, a bereavement support group. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas More Church. Pat served on the Board of Directors of Hospice of the Calumet Area for 30 years, and was a former member of the Griffith Rotary Club. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Wounded Healers or Hospice of the Calumet Area in her memory would be appreciated.

Pat was warm and welcoming and witty that evening and always throughout the years. We were so please to visit with her last summer and will remember her fondly always. You are all in our thoughts. My deepest condolences to the entire Kish family on the sad occasion of Pat’s death. Hers was a long, distinguished life spent serving others. She was a strong, kind and considerate woman who supported me in many ways, not least during her long service to Franciscan Alliance and Hospice of the Calumet Area. May she Rest In Peace and may her memory be eternal.

Pat was generous and thoughtful to me when I was in college and a young mother. I loved her dearly and admired her dignify and her grace. I will always think of her fondly as I do all the Kish family. Wonderful people. Sending love, Susie

To the Kish Family, You are in my prayers. Your mother was a truly incredible person who dealt with hardship in such a unique way. She spent her time helping others deal with loss. She mentored so many people and always had kindness in her heart. I know what a loss this is for your family. It's also a great loss for the whole Region. May the angels lead her into Paradise.

Pat Kish will truly be missed. She changed my life through Wounded Healers. As a Wounded Healer Facilitator, I learned so much from her. She has touched so many lives throughout the years and taught people how to navigate their journey through grief. May she watch over us as we grieve her loss and celebrate a life well-lived!
