Paul R. Beckman, 83, of Munster, IN passed away on Monday, June, 2, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis (nee Artim); daughters, Alice Beckman and Mary (Michael) Konstant; sons, Paul (Karen) Beckman and Bill (Caris) Beckman; grandchildren, Sean, Chelsea, Kent (Sochet), Nick, Kevin, Will and Caroline; brother, Art (Pat) Beckman; preceded in death by his brother, Richard Beckman; parents, Arthur and Lydia Beckman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. Interment will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church. Memorials are requested to be directed to The Share Foundation. Paul was the Owner / Operator of Artim Transport. He was a graduate of Hammond High School and Purdue University. Paul served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He served as a former scoutmaster of Troop 533. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
