Ray E. Sculley, age 82 passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Phyllis (nee Piekarski) Sculley; and two daughter, Rachel (Jose) Carbajal and Roxanne Sculley.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 directly at St. Thomas More Catholic Church 8501 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial offered by Reverend Michael Yadron. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Calumet City, IL. Visitation will be on Monday, May 10, 2021 at KISH FUNERAL HOME 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 3:30 p.m., and again at the church on Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. Mass.
Ray grew up in Wheatfield, IN and raised his family in South Holland, IL before moving to Munster, IN and Orlando, FL during his retirement. He worked for Ozinga Brothers as a professional driver and trainer for about 15 years, prior to that he drove 25 years for D&L Transport. Ray was an Orak Temple Shriner and enjoyed riding his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle during all the parades. He also took long road trips on his motorcycle with his wife and friends, even up to Pike’s Peak in Colorado Springs, CO. Ray was also a St. Thomas More parishioner and usher in Munster, IN and volunteered his time helping clean tables during their annual summer festival. Ray also enjoyed retirement in Orlando, FL as a snow bird with his wife Phyllis for many years. While in Orlando, he became an Elk’s Club member, Disney fan and NASCAR enthusiast. He was a Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan, loved all kind of food and was a pet lover (especially cats!). Ray served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a proud Veteran.
