Richard Julian Furman, age 83, passed away March 10, 2026 at his home in Merrillville, IN. He is survived by his loving sister, Peggy Shudick of Merrillville; and his nephew Richard (Marci) Shudick of Crown Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Julia Furman; grandparents; and many aunts and uncles. He graduated from Biship Noll High School and Thornton Community College, was in the National Guard and retired from Inland Steel Company after many years.
Visitation will be Friday, March 13 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and again from 9:30 to 10:00am at the church. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Saturday March 14, 2026 at St. Thomas More Church in Munster, IN. Interment will be at Holy Cross in Calumet City, IL. Memorial Contributions to St. Thomas More Church in his memory would be appreciated.
