November 14, 1952 - April 28, 2012

Bob M. Novotney, 59 of Munster, IN passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, April 28, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Alvina “Ally”; sons: Matthew (Jennifer) Novotney and Ryan Novotney; daughter: Jessica Novotney; granddaughter: Leah Novotney; mother: Katherine Novotney; brother: Mick (Sue) Novotney; sister: Jeanine (Doug) Jones; mother-in-law: Nuria White; sister-in-law: Charmaine White; brother-in-law: Dean White; Preceded in death by his father: Michael Novotney; father-in-law: Donald E. White; and his dogs: Kody and Blue. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN with a service at 7:00 PM, Pastor Steve Conger officiating. Bob worked maintenance for the School Town of Munster. He loved his family dearly and was a true friend to all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, www.pcf.org in his memory would be appreciated.

Though, I never really knew my grandfather I still love him like I have known him my whole life. After all of the funny amazing stories I have heard, i'm sure he was a HOOT! I wish I could have been able to know him to have memories of my grandfather. But, I would not be alive and well if it was not for him. I still love and miss my grandfather like iv'e known him my whole life. I love you grandpa have a restful life up in the heavens. -Leah Novotney

Big Bob was a great human being and beloved father. He was always so kind and his willingness to drop whatever he was doing to help me and Ryan out with just about anything we needed at the point in time. Even if that meant he had to drop that (Miller Lite) can for a brief min or two HAHA. He had always called me "COMBS" even though it was a simple nickname it has stuck with me to this day. The world has a lost a great and loving man. But his spirit and light will shine forever throughout his family. Rest in Peace Big Bob. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Novotney family.
