Rudolf Scherer, 90, of Munster, IN passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. He is survived by his daughter, Rosemarie (Kevin) O’Keefe; son, Michael (Margaret) Scherer; grandchildren, Brianna (Rodney) Lake, Brendan O’Keefe, and Brian (Lauren) Downing; great grandson, Jack Lake. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Marianne Scherer (nee Niehus). Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 9:15 am at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN with a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. James the Less Church, 9640 Kennedy Ave. Highland, IN. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00-6:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Rudy was a member of Bricklayers Local 6 for over 50 years. He passionately enjoyed woodworking and wood turning. He was an old world craftsman. Many of his works were featured in local art galleries. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice in his memory would be appreciated.
