Adele Frances (nee Kaplan) Winner was born in Chicago, IL on May 16, 1925 and died on July 10, 2017 at the Wm. J. Riley Memorial Residence in Munster, IN. She was married to the late Bernard Winner for 60 years; and is survived by her son, David; daughter, Sally (Mark) Weiss; grandchildren, Ari and Zachary Weiss; and brother, Lou Kaplan. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Interment will be private. Visitation will be on Thursday, at the funeral home, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service. Adele taught at George Rogers Clark in Robertsdale, and English and Speech in the East Chicago School system. She was active in the League of Women Voters and the ICLU. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Planned Parenthood, the Indiana Civil Liberties Union, the Jewish Federation or Hospice of the Calumet Area.
