ALFRED KOWALSKI HIGHLAND, IN/CHICAGO, IL Alfred M. Kowalski, 95, of Highland, died Thursday, November 2, 2023. Beloved Husband of ( Late) Nancy Kowalski; loving father of Late Sandra (Late Claude) Tiffany, Robert (Karen) Kowalski and Charles (Dianne) Kowalski; cherished grandfather of Shannon (Eugene) Ibarra, Candis (Mathew) Novosel, Alec (Alisha) Kowalski, Rene (Fred) Blohm, Jacob (Nina) Kowalski and Alissa (Tyler) Cozad; fond great grandfather of Emma, Elise, Cameron, Aiden, Valarie, Tyler, Sophia, Violet and Olive. Visitation will be Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 3:00- 8:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN and Friday from 10:00 -10:30 AM there will be a viewing at church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on 10:30 AM at St. James Church, Highland, IN. Al was born in Chicago, Illinois. He was an Auto mechanic by trade for 25 years at Seip Chevrolet – South Chicago and a Mechanic/Service writer for the City of Chicago for 18 years. He loved making new friends and being everyone’s grandpa. Al loved his Meals on Wheels clients that he had been serving for over 13 years and was well-known for his famous Eclair Cake. He was a jokester and avid card player (Polish Poker & Kings in the Corner 2X a week!) and won the last game he ever played!! Al was one-of-a-kind and will be missed forever and loved always.
Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body – But rather to skid in sideways totally worn out – shouting – “Holy Shit – What a Ride!!”
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Alzheimer’s Research in his memory would be appreciated.
