Alfred “Fred” Wrobel, age 78 of Saint John, IN passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022.  He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Wrobel; daughters, Karen (George) Kleronomos and Michelle (David) Strbjak; grandchildren, Zachary (Jessica) Strbjak, Alex Hansen, Jacob Strbjak, Nicole Kleronomos and Christian Kleronomos; great granddaughter, Skylar Strbjak; fond uncle of Cindy (Robert) Kowaleski and Marirose (David) Miketinas; and many nieces and nephews.  Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Natalie Wrobel; and sister, Marion (Harvey) Jordan.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022 DIRECTLY at Carmelite Fathers Monastery 1628 Ridge Road Munster, IN with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial offered by Reverend Bartlomiej Stanowski, OCD.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Calumet City, IL.  Visitation will be on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at KISH FUNERAL HOME 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 5:00 p.m. and again at the church on Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. Mass.

Fred was an avid golfer and White Sox fan and enjoyed the Blackhawks as well.  He loved playing poker and solving crossword puzzles.  Fred was with EJ&E railroad for 35 years and was a member of the EJ&E Jaybirds.  He was a former Board member of Ventura Estates Phase II and past Secretary/Treasurer of Windy City Lodge 339 Chicago, IL.  Most of all, Fred was a PROUD supporter of his grandchildren’s sports activities and was their biggest fan.
