Andrea Amelia Olchawa (née Yager), 83, of Lowell, IN passed away Friday Dec,12, 2025, at the William J. Riley Memorial Residence, Munster, IN. (Hospice of the Calumet area).

Andrea was born at St. Margaret’s Hospital, Hammond, IN & raised in the Hegewisch neighborhood of Chicago, IL on August 22, 1942, to Stephen (Duz) & Emilie Yager (Lesniak).

Preceded in death by her beloved husband Stanley W. Olchawa; precious son, Scott; cherished parents, Stephen (Duz) & Emilie Yager.

Survived by loving brother, Stephen M. (Darlene)Yager; nephew, Jason (Michelle)Yager; and niece, Jessica (Wayne) Pavey who were essentially Andrea’s 24 hour “on call” compassionate doers of ALL. Cherished aunt of many nieces, nephews and cousins, she sadly had to say goodbye to many dear brother & sister-in laws. She especially adored her Auntie Marge Berzinski.

Service will be held at the Holy Cross Cemetery chapel, 801 Michigan City Rd, Calumet City, IL.

Andrea was my dear cousin. We shared memories of a life time. I will miss her terribly and have all our memories to cherish. She had a lot of energy for life and fun. She would always make you feel special.
