Andrew Michael Pietrzak, 34, of Schererville, IN, passed away on May 28, 2015. He was born on January 7, 1981. He was a 1999 graduate of Lake Central High School. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Joyce Pietrzak; brother, Richard Pietrzak Jr.; sister, Stephanie Degenais; brother-in-law, Richard Degenais; two nieces, Sophia and Amelia Pietrzak; three nephews, Lucas, Henry and Benjamin Degenais; two grandmothers, Dolores Lapota and Jean (Chester) Pala; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Joseph Lapota and Robert Pietrzak; and several special family friends, Tom Pressler, Ralph Nosal and Eric Ostojic. He loved being an uncle and had an unbreakable bond with his nieces and nephews. He showered them with love, gave them chocolate before dinner and never turned down a game of hide-and-seek. His time with them was short but his impact on them is profound. He loved skiing, fishing, Dave Matthews Band and the Chicago Cubs. His grandmother Dolores was his best friend. He had white-blond hair as a boy and relished in the fact that as the middle child, he had the center of his mom’s heart. His nickname was Boomer. He was crazy smart, hilarious, fiercely loyal and one of the most charismatic people you would have ever met. If you knew him, you loved him. He will live on through the love he left in our hearts and outrageous stories of times with him. He will be missed every single day and was so, so very loved. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 3:00-7:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 7:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Cancer Resource Centre or Hospice of the Calumet Area in his memory would be appreciated.
