Andrew Steven Kokotis, age 85, of Munster, IN, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016. He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn (Lawrence) Kokotis; son, Gregory (Rita) Kokotis; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kimberly and Ryan; sisters and brothers, Olga (late Thomas) Kourtis, William (Anna) Kokotis, Gus Kokotis and Frances (late Chris) Kovacheff; nieces and nephews, Anastasia, Antonia, Stathis, George and Christina; and great nieces and nephews, Nathan, Nicholas, Kendall, Chase, Nicko and Joshua. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Anastasia Kokotis; and his wife, of 60 years, Margaret R. Kokotis. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 DIRECTLY at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 7021 Hohman Ave. Hammond, IN, with Rev. Fr. David Bissias, officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Schererville, IN. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Trisagion service at 6:30 p.m. Andrew was a member and Past-Board of Director at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Hammond, IN. He served as Parish Council President, from 1967-1969, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in East Chicago, IN. Andrew was a Lion, Mason and Rotary member, and served as Chairman of the Whiting, IN branch of the American Cancer Society. He served as Parade Marshall for Whiting, IN, from 1963-1973, and was very active with the Inland Steel Junior Achievement program, from 1965-1975. Andrew served with the Army, from 1952-1954, during the Korean Conflict. He loved to travel to Europe, Greece, Hawaii, California and especially Paris, France. His greatest love, was going to Disney, going on Disney cruises, with his grandchildren and his late wife, Margaret.
