Arlene Matela, 72 of Lansing Il passed away on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021. She is survived by her loving daughters, Jenn (Tom) Adams, Melanie (Mike) Berwanger; brothers, Richard(Late Elaine) Cislo, Robert Cislo; grandchildren, Noah Adams, Brynn Berwanger, Ben Berwanger, Caleb Adams; nieces and nephews, Lisa Cherbak, Julie Cislo, Late Michael Cislo, Len Matela, Scott Edburg, Zack Sykes, Amber Edburg. She was preceded in death by her Loving husband, Paul Matela.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 from 3-7 PM At Kish Funeral Home , 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, In. With a service at 7:00 PM. Interment will be private.

Arlene’s greatest passion was her family. She was always there for her daughters. She enjoyed traveling with them, shopping excursions, breakfast dates, and staying at their homes for extended visits. She adored her four grandchildren and spent a lot of time at dance competitions and baseball fields. Noah, Brynn, Ben and Caleb adored their grandma and have fond memories of sleep overs, family parties and swimming at her home. Arlene loved to play games. She played cards with her brothers and nieces every Saturday night( and it was always for money ). There was never a holiday or gathering that did not involve gambling and cards. She enjoyed the casino and feeding the slot machines with her brothers. She was a second mom to her niece, Amber. She loved her stories and her company. She was a fantastic friend to many. She enjoyed musicals and concerts. She loved the holidays and decorating her home. Aside from being remembered as the best mom ever, she will be remembered for her kindness and thoughtfulness. She was always willing to help anyone in need. All they had to do was ask. She left the world a better place and will greatly be missed.
