Arthur “Art” H. Wilkinson passed away peacefully December 9, 2015 at the age of 85, surrounded by his family. He was born December 23, 1929 in Gary, IN. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Catherine “Kay” (nee Zatorski) Wilkinson; beloved children, Ray (Christine) Wilkinson of Crown Point, Jim (Helen) Wilkinson of Munster, Mary (Jim) Lebryk of Munster, and Brian Wilkinson (Robert) of New Castle, DE; grandchildren, Andrea (Gary) Monix, Christopher (Shelli) White, Randall White, Ryan Wilkinson, Kyle Wilkinson, Cathy Lebryk, and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Edna (nee Harrison) Wilkinson; brother, Robert Wilkinson; sisters, Lenora Bainbridge, Adelaide Vandenburg, and Barbara Ruehling. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN, with Reverend Peter Wilkinson, officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Calumet City, IL. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Art was a devoted son, husband, father and avid Purdue fan, who always had a smile on his face. His biggest joy was watching his grandchildren grow up, and he especially enjoyed watching their various sporting events. Art was born and raised in Gary, IN and graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1948. He served in the Navy until 1952 and was a graduate of Purdue University. Art was employed for 43 years at ANCO (formally the Anderson Company) in Gary and Michigan City. He was a long time member of the Hobart and Highland Elks Lodges.
