I am so very sorry for the loss of your loved one. I was blessed to be in Mr. Pogosoff's Literature class at Maywood School when I was in junior high there. The year would have been around 1950. He was one of my two favorite teachers in my lifetime. He was funny and instilled in us a love of a world of literature and poetry we had never seen before. I still remember the poems I had to learn in his class....Invictus and Crossing the Bar. His class was exciting and stretched us to a new heights. I will always remember the huge briefcase he carried everywhere. I was one of two students who went to a Red Cross meeting as representatives of Maywood and before we went back to school he took us to Walgreens in Woodmar and we got hot chocolate. It made us feel very grown up. Of course many of the girls in our class had a crush on him. If the measure of a person is the impact they make on the lives of others Mr. Pogosoff towers above many of us. God bless your whole family. His students were blessed to have such a teacher.

Uncle Arthur...gonna miss talking to you. I'm thinking of the poetry that you recited and the special letters that you sent. Especially, I'm grateful that you taught me English. Love you forever, Karen.

We feel truly blessed to have had Mr. Pogosoff as one of our educators at EC Roosevelt. He was not only our educator, but a true mentor and friend. It was always such a treat when we spoke over the years. He had a heart of gold and was passionate when teaching his classes. We loved him as a special friend, and will truly miss him. Rest in peace Mr. Pogosoff!??
