Barbara Jean Emerson, 77, of Dyer, IN passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. She is survived by her daughters, Ronee(Bruce) Luttringer and Jamee (Chilton) Slathar; grandchildren, Sarah and Lillian Luttringer, Rylee and Hayden Slathar; brother-in-law, Lutz Petruska; niece, Debbie Sample; preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; grandson, Joshua Ronald Luttringer; parents and siblings. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 PM. Contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Hospice of the Calumet Area, in her memory would be appreciated.

My Aunt Bob (Barbara Jean) was more than just an aunt to all of her nieces and nephews...to me she was like another mother and a wonderful friend that I could always count on and who loved me unconditionally. She is finally at peace after surviving 3 different types of cancer, diabetes, and kidney failure. She fought a tough battle for many years, and though I already miss her, I am happy that she is finally at rest and back with the love of her life, Uncle Ron. Rest in His Peace Auntie Bob; you are loved my MANY!
