Barry David Rooth, age 67, of Valparaiso, IN passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025 with the love of his life Holly holding his hand.
Barry was a warrior and spectacular trial lawyer who fought to keep patients in Indiana safe for more than 40 years. In two separate instances, Barry prosecuted cases on behalf of hundreds of patients harmed by notorious doctors in Lake County, Indiana and saved lives by doing so. He loved to cycle, run, hike, and belly laugh with his amazing village of friends and loving family. When you didn’t find Barry reading, you could find him playing lead guitar or piano in his band The unPROFESSIONALS. Whether it was walking the dogs and goats with his daughter Jessie, spending time with his daughter Jenny, son-in-law Ryan and his new grandson Harvey, or traveling the world with Holly, Barry’s mantra was “Life is so good.”
He is survived by his wife, Holly Rooth; daughters Jennifer (Ryan) Bach and Jessica Rooth; grandson Harvey Bach; brother Robert (Melissa) Rooth; and nephews Jordan (Emily) Rooth and Jacob Rooth. Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Alan and Judith Rooth.
A service for Barry will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Avenue, Munster, Indiana. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
