Bea passed away peacefully Saturday morning, January 30th, two months shy of her 81st birthday. Preceded in death by her husband, Andrew, parents, Claude and Florine, and brother George. Survived by her sister, Marilyn Boyd, and sons, Mark (Virginia) and Craig, in-laws Dan and Martha Hanusin, Loretta Arens, Helen Baranowski, Jerry Schackmuth and nieces and nephews. A proud native of Robertsdale (Clark High School), Bea graduated from Ball State Teachers College in 1957 and taught kindergarten in Michigan, Indiana and finished in School District 168 in Sauk Village, IL. She was a member of IEA-NEA and IEA Retired, an associate member of the Munster-Highland Alpha Chapter of Tri Kappa (past president) and a former member of the Epsilon Omicron chapter of Tri Kappa (past president), and the Wicker Park Neighborhood Association. Bea’s wake will be Thursday, February 4th from 3-8pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave, Munster (South of Fitness Point), and her Funeral Service will be Friday, February 5th at 10:30am, presided by Reverend Steve Conger, at Kish Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville – Garden of Christus. She touched the lives of the children she taught, her family and friends Рby the beauty and determination that made her so special. Bea will be remembered fondly. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society and Hospice of the Calumet Area.
