Bonnie Elizabeth Sarchet

Bonnie E. Sarchet, 82 of Munster, IN passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, October 24, 2010. She is survived by her sons, David (Marilee) Sarchet and Gregory (Dorothy) Sarchet; brother, James (Lois) Marek; 7 grandchildren, Timothy (Darlene) Ghrist, Thomas (Dawn) Ghrist, James (Amanda) Ghrist, Peter Ghrist, Bonnie (David) Nix, Michael Sarchet and William Sarchet; 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Richard J. Sarchet; daughter, Paula L. Ghrist; parents, Retha Marek and John Johnson; sister, Alice Macabee and brother, Bryan Johnson. A service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00-7:00 PM. The procession will be leaving the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 AM for the interment at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice of the Calumet Area, 600 Superior St. Munster, IN 46321, in her memory would be appreciated. Bonnie moved to Munster in 1955 and volunteered for many years for the Parks and Recreation Department. She retired from Frito-Lay in 1990 as a beloved employee after 19 years of service. Always a devoted mother and grandmother, in recent years she treasured her many friends and brought laughter and joy to everyone who knew her.
